.pps is the extension file format of a powerpoint show file. It intends to make the presentation hassle-free, removing all the menus and toolbars of the microsoft powerpoint application. It is just like a compiled program once clicked it will directly do its intended function.
Heres how you can modify the content of a .pps file.
Assuming that you have this powerpoint show file ”MarketingSlides.pps”
1. You should change or rename the extension of the file from .pps to .ppt. (Note: To display the file extensions of file types, in Windows Explorer go to Tools -> Folder Options -> View and uncheck the “Hide file extensions of known file types” checkbox; in windows 7, it’s in the control panel->appearance and personalization->folder options)
2. The “MarketingSlides.pps” should be made “MarketingSlides.ppt”
3. Clicking the “MarketingSlides.ppt” file will open it in the PowerPoint environment and can be easily edited.
