Sony Computer Entertainment has launched its much-hyped Move Controller for the PlayStation 3, a motion-sensing peripheral that lets you interact with games by waving the device in front of the television
Designed to work with specific games, the PlayStation Move motion controller for PlayStation 3 requires a PlayStation Eye camera that sits just below or above the television. The move controller, has a small ball on top that changes colour, depending on what’s happening in the game.
Sony’s wireless motion control offers three advantages over Nintendo’s technology:
• Movements are much more precise, aided by the fact you are tracked in 3D space, such as stepping back from the ping pong table in Sports Champions before whacking the ball.
• The camera-based system allows players to put themselves right into many games, so you can see yourself on the screen in Start the Party and EyePet.
• The PlayStation 3 offers high-definition graphics for a more photorealistic experience over the Wii’s standard-definition visuals.
Sony Move’s initial price is $99.99 bundled with a Playstation Eye Camera and 1 Game.
