Here’s one for Big G (Google Inc) as it finally closed the deal with China on its $12.5 billion purchase of Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. (MMI). And it sounds like giving a boost over Apple! Prior to this, the buy-out had already got approvals in Europe, the U.S. and other jurisdictions worldwide.

Well, it is apparent that the deal would give best options for Google to compete with Apple’s iPhone. And being the worlds’ biggest producer of smartphone software, Google would have 17,000 patents to protect Android devices for possible legal disputes among competitors. Likewise, with this deal, Google now competes with other handset makers of Android devices. Aside from Motorola Mobility phones, the software also runs handsets made by Samsung and HTC.
As a result, Google has to guarantee that versions of Android software are free and open for the next five years as part of the China’s approval. And Google then needs to report to China to comply with terms of the deal. So, who do you think now is bigger? Is it Google?
