You Could Be the Next Hand of the King, Play Game of Thrones in Facebook

Hey guys, supporters of Winterfell, followers of Khaleesi and haters of Joffrey. Here’s another social-game treat for all of you Game of Thrones fans and Facebook game aficionados.

Game of Thrones Ascent is currently in development by Disruptor Beam for future release on Facebook. It is a story-driven game that will bring the fantasy world of Westeros to life for millions of people.

Players will claim their birthright by choosing which of the great houses they’ll swear allegiance to – like the Starks, Lannisters and Greyjoys. This is a story-based game that needs strategy in securing holdings, developing lands and personal reputation, and assigning sworn swords to quests–while forging alliances with new friends and much more.

“Everyone at Disruptor Beam was a huge fan of Game of Thrones long before we began working on the game, so we recognize that other fans expect character-driven conflict and intrigue to take center stage in our new game. Westeros is the perfect setting to deliver on our vision of weaving stories through decisions and social interactions,” said Jon Radoff, CEO of Disruptor Beam.

Disruptor Beam said the game will play heavily into Facebook’s social features, and ask players to make moral and political choices with their friends similar to the big risks taken in the series.

The game is still in the development process and release will commence in the coming months, so let’s just stick around.

Meanwhile, if you haven’t seen the series yet, catch it up, you’re missing a damn good series! Game of Thrones is currently on its second season aired every Sunday night on HBO, with the season finale on June 3.
