Guys, why not grab this opportunity as Microsoft Corp. announces the availability of its Windows Upgrade Offer for users of the new Windows 7 PC. When you buy an eligible Windows 7 PC, you then get the option to download an upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for about $14.99 which you can actually redeem as soon as Windows 8 is available.

Microsoft Chief marketing and financial officer Tami Reller said that there’s a great interest in Windows 8 given the availability of the Windows 8 Release Preview, thus a lot of consumers would want a new PC. He then reiterated that the Windows Upgrade Offer gives users the flexibility in getting new Windows 7 PC while expecting that they can easily get Windows 8.
Well, the promo has already started in about 131 markets including the U.S. and Canada. The offer is available for consumers buying new Windows 7 PCs with preinstalled Windows 7 Home Basic, Home Premium, and Professional or Ultimate that include a valid OEM Certificate of Authenticity. But the Windows 7 PC must be purchased from June 2, 2012–Jan. 31, 2013, and can be redeemed until the end of February 2013. The upgrade comes with a 90-days support from Microsoft which you can install on any eligible and compatible Windows PC.
Here’s the procedure:
1. Eligible customers must register for the Windows Upgrade Offer through www.windowsupgradeoffer.com by February 28, 2013.
2. After customer registration and Microsoft validation, customers will receive a registration confirmation email.
3. Upon the General Availability (GA) and release of Windows 8, customers will receive an email with a promotion code and instructions for purchasing and downloading the software. The promotion code will be redeemed during the upgrade ordering process to receive the promotional price.
4. Customers will be able to purchase a downloadable version of Windows 8 Pro. An optional installation DVD is available for an additional fee, plus shipping and any applicable taxes or duties. Customers can also choose to create their own installation media on DVD or USB media after downloading Windows 8.
