Samsung has announced a 10.1-inch Windows RT tablet at IFA 2012 in Berlin – meet the Samsung Ativ Tab. The new Samsung Ativ Tab designed with a classy hairline finish, delivers a full Windows 8-based PC experience in a tablet world with superior mobility.
ATIV TAB is the Samsung’s first Windows RT tablet. The device is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM with a mid-size 8200mAh battery, also equipped with a 5 megapixel rear camera and 1.9 megapixel in the front. Alongside the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC, the Ativ Tab also includes USB 2.0 and uHDMI ports and will come bundled with Office Home and Student 2013.
Ativ Tab is similar to a recently released Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 minus the S-Pen. The 10.1-inch display offers 1,366 x 768-pixel resolution. Notable hardware features are the USB 2.0 port and micro-HDMI ports which enable supported devices to work automatically without the need of extra software. I am imagining the handy flash drive (plug n’ play) and possible compatibility of 3G/4G LTE USB dongles. woaah-taragis!
Internal storage is standard at either 32GB or 64GB. The unit weighs 570g and measures 0.35 inches thick. Though Samsung did not mention a specific release date or pricing for the Ativ Tab, it might follow Microsoft’s October 26 release date of Surface Tablet Windows RT and Windows 8 OS. So, stay tuned for updates Sammy fans! =)
