Urbanears opened its first concept store in the Philippines located at the 3rd floor of the Podium, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.
And look what we got, a pair of one of its masterpieces: the Urbanears Zinken.
Zinken is technically designed for DJs, but who said so, anyone can have it, whether you’re a pro DJ, amateur, a hobbyist or just looking for an exceptional sound quality device yet trendy at style, well, this one’s for you.
The overall look has a tactile matte finish and it features swivel ear caps, an adjustable headband, collapsible and of course the cushioned foam pads which makes it a very comfortable head buddy. And yeah, the foams are made from non-absorbent materials that surely matters to those who’ll use it for a long time, – it won’t absorb sweat and odors. Promise! =)
Testing it up, the amplified foam thickness of the ear cushions accomplishes superior noise isolation; it cuts out ambient noise relatively. And with its custom-designed 40mm dual diaphragm driver, dude, it’s awesome! It delivers amazing sound across the entire frequency spectrum.
And with its genius concept engineers, Urbanears created this so called “turncable”. At one end it has a normal 3.5mm jack for smartphones, gadgets, computers etc. and then on the other end it has 6.3mm jack for use with a mixer for DJ sessions. Woaah! You can plug each of these separate ends on different sides of the ear caps which technically allow you to use the same pair for general use or for playing out loud dancing with the Gangnam style.
There’s also a little microphone and button to press for answering calls when plugged-in on smart phones but oops, don’t look for it, there’s no volume control here.
And if you want to share your music, there’s even a spare headphone socket to plug into, it’s called ZoundPlug. Aye, Cool!
All in all, I had a great experience, I’ve been using this audio device for a couple of weeks and aside from a once a while commute which gives me intimate time to have it on my head, I constantly use it in the gym while running on a treadmill, though we’re both battling an intense activity it doesn’t let me down, and since it vaunts swivel feature, as I move, the ear caps don’t feel restrictive and of course I’m delighted because it’s sweat-proof. And as of my overall experience, summing it up not mentioning all the technicalities with the diaphragm, impedance, frequency response and all other things, Zinken really rocks!
Color is a major part of Urbanears, and Zinken is no exception, it is available in Dark Grey, Rust, Black, White, Pumpkin, Tomato, Indigo, Grape, and Cream.
