The much-awaited iPhone 5 is finally here with new improved features as expected, but before we decide to get one, let’s go through with some interesting points to consider and look how it fared with the equally-impressive Samsung Galaxy S3.
Looking at their features (see specs of iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3 ), both phones appear to be absolutely amazing, but of course, one may go beyond the other and let’s find out.
What’s inside?
iPhone 5 comes with an A6 processor, a 1GB RAM and a power TBC. Apple didn’t give a detailed technical info on its CPU, but it’s pretty sure though that it’s twice faster than the iPhone4S’s dual-core 1GHz CPU and PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics.
Samsung Galaxy S3 uses an Exynos 4412 chip with four cores, also with a 1GB RAM and runs at 1.4GHz, perhaps an advantage over the iPhone5.
How does it look?
Using a nano-SIM and screen tech to squeeze everything in it, Apple made it sure for the new iPhone to look obviously thin for just 7.6mm on a metal casing, exactly 1mm thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S3 which is 8.6mm thick with its plastic casing which might turn out to be a minus.
iPhone 5 has a 4-inch display with 1136×640 pixel resolution while Samsung Galaxy S3 has 720 x 1,280 pixels on its 4.8-inch display making it quite wider to hold for some hands.
What comes new with it?
- iPhone 5: 8MP camera, LED flash, Earpod headphones, Lightning power connector, 8-pin connector, internal battery of up to 8 hours talk time
- Samsung Galaxy S3: 8MP camera, LED flash, microUSB, microSD, microSIM, Samsung noise isolating IEM earphones, adapter, replaceable 2100mAh battery
Given these features, our choice is now within our reach. And summing it up, it appears that our choice would mostly depend on both device’s expandability and durability, may it be an iOS or Android phone, Apple or Google. Both phones came out to be amazingly impressive.
So, Geeks, would you have your smart pick now?
