Cherry Mobile Candy TV

Android phone is more fun in the Philippines! It does have TV! Introducing the Cherry Mobile Candy TV now powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Cherry Mobile gave us this unit for review and come on let’s find out.

I’ve learned that this candy phone is powered by a 1GHz MediaTek MT6575 processor and a PowerVR SGX531 GPU. And guess what, if you’re eyeing for Lenovo A60+ their using the same processor and GPU. Cool!

And now, let’s add some basic specs info, it comes with 2 cameras; a 2 megapixel for rear and a VGA in front which basically used for video calls. You can install Skype from Google Play store as well as Yahoo! Messenger. There is also a pre-installed viber, and they’re all working great. – Taragis! Well, Gingerbread is really a success story on this device. Cheers!

Even though the RAM is 256MB, it doesn’t affect the overall wellness of the phone and while on test it didn’t show any signs of process lags and looks like everything are well suited. And while running some of its basic pre-installed apps, it all went well and could safely say, it’s a real working android phone. =) But of course don’t expect a smooth run on some heavily made apps and games, either they will work inefficiently or will not work at all. And because this is an entry level android phone, expect some limitations.

Candy TV Social Media Apps

You can run social media apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Well, it doesn’t have 3G, but no worries because a lot of people now uses pocket Wi-Fi as hotspot and this one is WiFi ready.  And who would outrun its TV feature. Just like our home TV, this phone has the equipment to extract the audio and video content from radio signals and process them to display a TV show on its screen.

Hands-On Video

Candy TV features a 3.5-inch touch screen display and as I used it, I can say it’s pretty much responsive and could relatively be compared with the experience we had in Cherry Mobile Cosmo.

And of course, it’s a dual sim phone. And for the storage it has a built in 512MB ROM and can expand up to 32GB through its microSD slot. Other built in specs are Bluetooth, FM radio, Motion Sensor and 3.5mm Audio Jack. You can choose from 5 different colors.
