iPad Mini is officially launched, finally! and one thing more, there is actually another new iPad (iPad 4). The fourth-generation iPad is an updated version of third generation iPad with a Retina display, featuring improved wi-fi, a new small lightning connector, additional 4G LTE carriers and faster chip, the A6X — delivering faster performance costing the same amount of iPad 3. By the way, iPad 3 will be dissolved.
The new iPad (4th generation iPad) though they don’t want to call it iPad 4, let’s call it that way just to simplify things (forgive us Apple Inc)^^, iPad 4 will be released on Nov 2 at a starting price of $499. The new iPad 4 looks and feels exactly like the third-generation model, complete with a 9.7-inch Retina Display boasting a 2048×1536 resolution.
Schiller said that the all-new A6X chip doubles the chip speed and graphics performance of the A5X chip, and the new processor also powers enhanced features in the tablet, including photo and video stabilization and face detection. It’s also very energy efficient, in order to give the iPad its typical 10 hours of battery life.
Going back to iPad mini which is the highlight of the event, the iPad mini (small “m” in mini) will be sold at a price of $329. There are 2 flavors of iPad mini: 16GB Wi-Fi only for $329 and Wi-Fi+cellular for $459.
It’s a sleek, thin and light 7.9-inch tablet made of anodized aluminum and glass just like the materials used in iPhone 5. It is powered by A5 processor and 512MB of RAM. The pixel resolution is 1024 x 769 pixels, not Retina. Apple claims a 10 hour battery life surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video or listening to music, using its 16.3-watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery. It features FaceTime HD camera (better then iPad 2 camera) and like the bigger iPad it also comes with a 5 megapixel rear camera that shoots full 1080p HD video. iPad mini is 23% thinner and 53% lighter than iPad.
iPad mini will run Apple’s new iOS 6 software, complete with Siri and all of the other features available on the iPhone and larger iPad.
iPad mini will also be available along with the iPad 4 starting November 2, 2012. Philippines price for iPad mini will range from Php13,500 to Php15,000 – not bad! =) So excited?! planning to get one?
