Samsung Galaxy S3 mini with a 4-inch screen will be unveiled today at an event in Germany.
Galaxy S3 might have the best specs and features amongst smartphones and even the most superior in android world. It’s good, it’s big, but let’s admit it; some consumers aren’t happy with its supersize screen and opt to take smaller units such as iPhone 5 and Motorola RAZR M.
Following the successful launch of iPhone 5, Samsung acknowledged the demand for a 4 inch smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean from the box and feature Wi-Fi, DLNA, a Micro USB connection and the device’s dimensions are expected to be 121.55 x 62.95 x 9.85mm. S3 Mini will also include NFC chip to allow payments to be made with the phone as well as file transfers with other NFC compatible devices.
Although it will be smaller, Samsung insists that the S3 mini will not be an entry level device. The device’s specs have yet to be confirmed, but some early claims suggest it may be powered by an STE U8420 dual-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz and ship with 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, an 800 x 480 pixel Super AMOLED touchscreen display, and 16GB of internal storage, as well as a microSD slot. It will be powered by 1500mAH battery which is lower than being used by the big SG3.
Samsung’s head of mobile communications, said the product will first launch in Europe.
Meanwhile, Apple expected to reveal an iPad Mini next week to take on the likes of the Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire.
