Cherry Mobile Blaze, the new 4.7 inch dual core phone with 8 megapixel camera. Titan users will get envy with this one. For the price of Php 6,499 (same price with Cherry Mobile Titan) I would definitely say, this one is worth buying! =)
Blaze’s processor (MT6577 1GHz dual-core processor, ARMv7) comes from Mediatek, Taiwan’s biggest chip designer. Boasting 4.7-inch FWVGA (Full Wide Video Graphics Array) with 854×480 pixels resolution (208ppi), Blaze supports 5-point multi touch feature.
Cherry Mobile Blaze Unboxing
Touch flow is smooth and responsive, the device’s over all enclosure is made of durable plastic with silver lining, which for me, serves as a plus factor becoming to look like more as a premium phone, the entire design really resembles the looks of Samsung Galaxy S3.
The 8 megapixel rear camera is a turn-on factor and is good enough to take high quality pictures (best in outdoor) and shoots 720p HD videos (though as of writing, I’m having problem enabling the “fine” video quality option, the camera is hanging on this option – I’ll write a separate post about it).

Voice Call Audio Quality
Though I didn’t experience any drop calls, the voice audio quality is at far different from the one that I’m used to – iPhone (forgive me for the comparison) “parang tunog lata ang boses dito” taragis but I wouldn’t blame Cherry Mobile on that part, might be one of the drawbacks of an affordable phones, and it’s no big deal. FM radio as well as music player (mp3s) works well. The device comes with Cherry Mobile stock earphones.
Gaming
Cherry Mobile Blaze GPU is PowerVR SGX531, the same GPU that you can see with most of Lenovo smartphones and Motorola Motosmart XT389. You can play well with most of the popular games on this device; I just tried the Temple Run and 3D Cave Runner. See the video:
Battery
Blaze is powered by 1,500mAh battery (inferior to Titan’s 2,350mAh), my first full charge lasted for a day (full usage, Wi-Fi is on, multiple apps running) and for me, it’s fine and normal with Android device. =) Proper apps management can help extend battery life. (I installed Juice Defender app and I’m observing now the difference)
