Japanese news agency Asahi Shimbun Digital has reported that the next-generation PS4 console will be priced around 40,000 Japanese Yen (around $430). Rumors emerged about the possible price tag, specs and launch of the PS4 gaming console after Sony released an online teaser video marked ‘See the Future‘ an invitation to the February 20 PlayStation exclusive event.
If ever the price is right, PlayStation 4 will break the selling price of PS3, which cost during its launch ¥60,000 in Japan, and $499-$599 in the United States based on the HDD space.
There’s been no official confirmation of any retail pricing from Sony at this stage or until February 20, but it’s worth noting that, if the price of the PS4 would be around $400, this is not gonna be too far from the $349 price of the Wii U console.
Additionally, Asahi Shimbun states that the PS4 will be released in the United States and Japan before the end of 2013.
