Blackview, a name unheard of in the Philippines has paved its way in the local market as it officially introduced itself in a grand launch last Thursday (October 23, 2014) at Century Park Hotel, Manila.

The Hong Kong based company also announced its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Blackview Omega, a 5-inch octa core device featuring full HD display made by AU Optronics (AUO), 2GB RAM and a 16GB of internal storage which is also expandable up to 64GB.

Blackview Omega uses the 13-megapixel 1/3.06 Sony IMX135, one of the most popular sensors available that is also used on devices like the LG G3, LG G2, and the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Other specification includes: Dual SIM functionality, 2100 mAh battery, 3G and WiFi connectivity options, AGPS/GPS, Bluetooth. The device runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and comes with software-activated features such as Double Tap to Wake, Intelligent Dialing and Flip Over To Mute.

As for the price tag, Blackview hasn’t officially announced this yet but it looks like it might have a flagship-worthy recommended retail price. The release date is also uncertain, and might not hit shelves by this year.

As for other units, there’s a Blackview Arrow priced at Php 11,999, the device boasts 5-inch full HD display and runs on a 1.7GHz octa core processor, it uses the MT6592W chipset from Mediatek. Arrow comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The device is also armed with 18 megapixel main camera and 8MP in the front.

Blackview Crown is also on the list, the company’s most affordable octa core device with 2GB RAM. It also comes equipped with 16GB ROM, the 5-inch screen size is the same as the Blackview Arrow but has a reduced HD resolution.
