Things You Need To Know About Internet.org free Internet Access
Internet.org has partnered with our local telco Smart, TNT, and Sun Cellular to bring free internet in the country. Internet.org is a Facebook-led initiative bringing together technology leaders, nonprofits and local communities to connect two thirds of the world that doesn’t have internet access.
Since Internet.org has only partnered with Smart, TNT, and Sun Cellular, only those subscribers of the said telcos can enjoy free internet access. If you are a Globe subscriber and trying to access the website, you will be prompted with the following message.
There are two ways to access the free internet, first is using any of your phone browser then text INTERNET to 9999. Second, download the Internet.org app via Google Playstore .
Keep in mind that in order to avoid any data charge, you must remain in the Internet.org website or Internet.org application. Also set your notifications to manual push in the phone settings.
However, the free internet access is only limited with these following websites:
- BabyCenter & MAMA
- Facts for Life
- Girl Effect
While the user experience from visiting the website without using Internet.org may differ when using Internet.org app/website, there still lots of things to be thankful for this initiative, after all, it’s free and it’s better than to have nothing.
