by Bon Francisco Talampas, Jr.February 14, 2017

Android Wear 2.0, the Google’s upgraded smartwatch operating system, will be released to the public starting February 15.

According to report, Android Wear 2.0 is a complete overhaul of Google’s wearable platform. The update allows users to personalize their always-on watch faces with info such as speed-dial contacts, calendar events and more. As well as this, the OS now comes with Google Fit pre-installed, allowing smartwatches to track distance, pace, calories and even a user’s heart rate whenever there is a heart rate monitor present.

A cellular-connected Android Wear watch can also fuel better workouts, according to Google, you can stay in touch with calls and messages, stream Google Play Music off the watch and through Bluetooth headphones, and the addition of weight-lifting, push-up, sit-up, and squat rep counters. When a message is received, users can dictate or handwrite an answer, and “Smart Reply” includes intelligent, contextual responses based on the incoming message.
