What to expect on Mobile World Congress 2012 (Feb 27 – March 1)
Calling on all mobile phone fanatics! Here’s what could come out starting Sunday at this year’s MWC in Barcelona, Spain, where the world’s grandest selection of mobile technology is here again bringing with it a non-stop parade of quad-core phones, 4G networks, and new OS. MWC will set the stage for mobile tech in 2012.

And rounding it up, here are some big players in this year’s show:
- Acer CloudMobile, an Android Ice Cream Sandwich-powered phone with a 4.3-inch display and Dolby sound.
- Asus’ Padfone, a 4.3-inch smartphone which docks into a 10-inch tablet.
- HTC has four new HTC Android models, the One S, One X, One V, and One XL.
- Huawei is showing the quad-core Ascend D1 Q phone and a 10-inch tablet.
- LG is expected to announce both quad-core Android and new Windows phones.
- Nokia will have six new phones: two Windows, a Symbian device, and three more Asha texting phones.
- Samsung is introducing a Galaxy Note 10.1, which is a 10-inch tablet with a stylus and maybe the “Galaxy S II Plus,” a faster version of Samsung’s Galaxy S II smartphone.
- Sony Ericsson is now bringing the Xperia U and Xperia P Android phones to the show.
Other mobile providers such as ZTE, Nvidia,TI, Qualcomm, Intel and Motorola are expected to show off their latest products. Likewise, the CEOs of AT&T and Sprint are both appearing on panels which are expected to talk about their LTE rollout plans. T-Mobile and Clearwire are also attending the show.
