How to make your own Stop Motion Videos

Guys, ever wanted to make your own animation? Here’s another treat for mobile phone users! There are lots of free stop-motion apps made for iPhone and Android users. Stop motion (also known as stop frame) is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own.

For iPhone users, I recommend Stop-Motion Camera by BaenPark. It’s very easy to use, if you’re just planning to make a simple experiment, you can use this stuff and you will be surprised on its outcome, it’s just a take a shot-move-take a shoot-move project. =)

Here’s my first stop-motion video using the Baen Park’s stop motion camera iPhone app.

Another one, for Android users; you can use Stop Motion Lite by Sheado.Net. I haven’t used this app yet but looks like it will do the job as well. And if some of you guys got a chance to produce an animation from this one, let us know your experience or maybe you could share your videos. =)

Ok, don’t have iPhone or android phone? Of course you can still do it, use your plain digital camera! =). Install your camera in a fix position (better if you will use a tripod) and then take a lot of shots from your item after moving it. After taking the shots, you can organize and do it in a Movie Maker, it’s a built in program in Windows XP (if you couldn’t find it just type moviemk in your Run). For windows 7 users, it’s not included in your OS but you can download Windows Live Movie Maker from Microsoft. (Click the link to download it).

Well that’s how you start your animation videos, the rest would all depend on your creativity. =) Further questions; drop it in a comment box! Or if you have some great stop-motion vids, share it with us!

Here’s another stop-motion video from my Bumblebee. (I caught bumblebee dancing and suddenly felt shy on his moves) haha.
