Hey guys, here’s another teaser before you finally get your tablet this 2012. Expected to unveil next week at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Toshiba promises the world’s thinnest 10-inch tablet.
Though the company has not yet mentioned the model of the device but apparently saying that the world’s thinnest and lightest 10.1-inch tablet will be definitely part of its product lineup at CES. Along with this, it will also showcase new Ultrabook laptops and LCD televisions.
But wait, do you think that this mystery tablet could simply be the Toshiba’s Regza AT700 which is currently available in Japan at USD800? This Android 3.2-based tablet is 7.7 millimeters thick which is obviously slimmer than Apple’s iPad 2 which measures 8.8 millimeters. And also it weighs 558 grams which is a bit lighter compared to the iPad2 weighing 613 grams.
Here’s more to spice it up, the Regza AT700 has a 1.2GHz, dual-core chip from Texas Instruments, 1GB of memory, and up to 32GB of onboard storage, plus a microSD slot. It also has a USB 2.0 port and an HDMI port. There’s a front-facing 2-megapixel Webcam and a 5-megapixel camera in the back and boasts a 1280-by-800 resolution display. It is rated for up to seven hours of battery life. Do you think this could beat your iPad2?
But who knows, this mystery tablet could be something entirely different and that would be really interesting to look forward to. It could be something special Toshiba is coming up with to penetrate the U.S. market, and obviously to compete with the Apple’s tablet. Well, let’s wait for what’s in store for Toshiba. Would it make it you decide to finally get rid of your Apple tablet? I’d rather go to Vegas next week to find out lols!
