Amazon Kindle Fire HD is finally here with bunch of features to show off. And there are two sizes to choose from, one with 8.9-inch display and another one with a 7-inch display. Let’s have a look what’s inside this new tablet and how much would it cost your pockets.
Inside, you’ll find an OMAP4 4470 processor from Texas Instruments, a dual speaker, a front-facing HD camera, and HDMI out. It’s also the first tablet with a dual-band (2.4GHz, 5GHz) MIMO technology, which according to Amazon makes the tablet’s WiFi 41 percent faster than the iPad. Outside, it measures 8.8mm thick and weighs 1.25 lbs. And it has a high-resolution screen with a polarizing filter minimizing glare. For a 7-inch model, expect about 11 hours of battery life.
Geeks, the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD is gonna be available on September 14 while the 8.9-inch versions will be available later but in time for the holiday season, though pre-orders of all three versions are now available.
