Starting February 4, 2014, application for NBI Clearance can be made online, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced recently. Applicants will no longer have to fall in line and wait for a long queue rather they can simply fill out the complete application form over the internet.
How to file NBI Clearance Online?
DOJ’s press release states that the complete NBI Clearance application form is going to be accessible at www.doj.gov.ph/nbi or www.nbi.gov.ph starting the said date. After filling out the online application form, applicants will be directed to proceed to the nearest NBI sites nationwide for payment and biometric enrollment. Release of the said clearance follows thereafter.
DOJ Secretary Leila M. de Lima said that “With the implementation of the new NBI system, we shall continue to roll-out and implement solutions to progressively eliminate queues and simplify processes.” She also said that the new Clearance system provides a more reliable platform for the efficient processing of applicants’ information. “With the improved search engine and query database, the accurate releasing of clearances will be faster,” De Lima added.
The new NBI Clearance system also features an automated cashiering module designed for consistent accounting reports that would eliminate malversation and corruption. It also has a renewal module to lessen waiting time for applicants who already have previous records.
