LG has unveiled the Smart Bulb in Korea, a light bulb that connects with Android and iOS devices, providing several interesting features.
Compatible with Android devices running version 4.3 Jelly Bean or higher and Apple devices running at least iOS 6, LG smart bulb connects through both Bluetooth and WiFi.
Aside from turning the lights on and off, the app will also allow you to vary the light bulb’s brightness. LG Smart Bulb will blink when users get a phone call. Also, it feature security mode which makes it look like you’re at home when you’re away, as well as pulsating to the tune of music (for Android devices).
LG’s bulb are designed to last “more than ten years when turned on for five hours every day” and are said to save energy by 80% when compared to an incandescent light bulb.
LG’s Smart Bulb price is 35,000 won, or $32. At this point, it’s available in LG’s home country of Korea, and there’s no word as to when it will make its way to the U.S.
